Thread: Setting Delay Tempo after selecting Dotted Eighth Note(?)

  1. Default Setting Delay Tempo after selecting Dotted Eighth Note(?)

Okay, I'm using Bank 17, Patch 4 and I've set to the dotted eighth note (think U2 stuff). A side, from that particular patch, which I know would be better with a vox amp model and a little bit of grit, I know that you can "tap" out the tempo with the CTL pedal but I'm hoping there is an easier way to specifically dial in the tempo. For example, the song "Pride (In the Name of Love)" is a dotted 8th at right about 110 bpm. Another example being the song "Bad" which is a dotted 8th at 104 bpm.

Is there a way to dial in, vice tap?

    Thanks!

I don't see how you set "patch tempo" once you select the dotted 8th from within the delay effec.t. can you provide more detail? Thanks,

I have never played around with the patch "beats per minute" setting. . Can somebody explain how this is used? With the delay, tremolo, etc each having their own time settings, what effect does the master bpm have?

if you use the bpm and set your delay (or rate) to say eighth note it will be in sync with what your playing. Try setting the bpm to 120 and set the delay to quarter note and set the feedback at say 50 so you can hear the repeats, then play something at 120bpm, now set the bpm to 100 and play something at 120 bpm and you'll hear how the repeats are not in sync with the beat, bpm is your friend if you like delay.

Step on pedals 1 and 2 and that shows you the tuner and the metronome. Adjust the tempo to whatever you want in the metronome and save the patch. If you want to set the tempo on the fly just set PL or accel pdl to bpm tap or set one of the pedals in manual mode to bpm tap. All you have to do is tap in time with the song (quarter notes) and you're set.

Recorded an example so you can hear how the bpm works. The Tempo is at 120 and I set the BPM at 120 so you can hear how the repeats go with the beat, then I changed the BPM to 100 and you can hear how the repeats are off from the beat. The delay was set to quarter note to emphasise, but works with the others as well. It's probably not that good of an example but hope you get the idea.
