Default Boss GT-6 and FX FloorBoard Help

I'm finally trying to start making my own patches for my Boss GT-6, but I can't for the life of me get my computer to talk to it. I'm using GT6FxFloorBoard as my program.

Here's a video showing exactly what I'm doing to try to get it into Bulk Mode. I'm following the instructions exactly as I'm understanding them. Can anyone see if I'm doing anything wrong?

Basically I'm connecting it (Out to In, In to Out), going into Bulk Load on the GT-6, clicking on Bulk Mode in Fx FloorBoard, and getting an error message.

    I'm really frustrated/desperate here.

    Two things there,
1.) Has the "midi input" and "midi output" device type been selected from the "Preferences > Midi" menu ??
2.) That type of midi device is known to not work very well with recieving large amounts of system exclusive data, some days it may work, some days not.
recommend a quality midi device, i use Edirol/Roland ones.

Thanks for the quick response. After I checked "Debug mode" in the preferences, I got it to kind of work. Still lots of errors, but I'm at least able to transfer stuff over.

What do you think of this MIDI to USB interface?

No tried one myself, but if it's made by Roland, it should work..

I finally got it to transfer patches over to the GT-6, but when I try to modify anything, it crashes on me. Like every single time. I deleted the original folder in my applications folder, and then downloaded and reinstalled. Same thing. It's happening both when I've got my pedal plugged into the computer and when it's not.

I'm on OSX 10.5.8 here on my laptop. Would it help if I upgraded my OS?

Probably won't make much difference upgrading the OS.
Maybe if you could please provide a detailed step list in what it takes to make the program crash,
that would be helpful so i can try to replicate the problem.
I don't use a mac that much, the program is developed in windows, so there could be a few mac specifc 'quirks'.

Basically I open the program and load a patch from the drop down menu at the top right. Then when I try to click on one of the stomp boxes to adjust or turn it off, it locks up for a second, then crashes.

On a separate note, I booted to my Windows partition and installed it over there. Everything worked perfectly, so it looks like it's not the cheap USB/MIDI cable. Guess I'll just keep using it in Windows and forget about the OSX version.
