Question No decent demos on the GT-100, up until now, some of you have received it, why?

    I wonder why?
Boss fails to give us good demo in 2 shows NAMM and musikmesse
Now it's on the market people received it, still no good demo....!
It must be a curse that catches whom ever touches this GT and then he starts to make goofy demos or make nothing and keep silent...!

For me it's a combo of there's a lot to discover + finding time + I suck at making demos. Not that I'd suck at it, I'm just not the right guy to do it. 99% of what I play wouldn't sound right out of a song's context. I think time is my major enemy here though.

I did this one earlier today - http://www.bossgtcentral.com/showthr...102#post228102 It's not really a demo per se (at least in the sense of showing all of the features and sounds) but it's a chance to listen to the GT100.

Overall, I'm not finding much I don't like! Will be able to give a better review after I put it through the band practice tire kicking tomorrow.
My live stuff: Gretsch guitars-->BOSS GT-100-->two Tech 21 PW60 cabinets. End of story.

This is my first ever GT, I have a 3.5year son, and I am an occasional bedroom player. I can't really compare with the 10, 8 or something decent as my previous fx is a TonalWorks that I've paid less than $50. I've tried only twice, with headphones, around the pre-existing patches (found 4 or 5 that are usable but nothing really that great). So i would say answers 2, 3 and 4 combined would be my case.... I know you are thinking "what a waste!" Sorry, not my fault having one first... I went to GC this saturday for a recording class and they still have the other 2 units untouched, so basically 2 full days without anyone noticing the GT100 existence... So if you dig, you can found one.

Listen critically to the BOSS GT-100 Sound Preview at the BOSS website. Also listen to micycle's tune just posted in GT-100 recordings forum. You have to give the former a few listens to hear the betterments in tone, but the latter, micycle cuts to the chase and offers a few tones that are really very good and convincing!

thanks Icebueno for the feedback and the GC hint, i'm making this poll just for the fun of it while pushing to get some decent demos out on the internet from actual users, not just a vendor type of demo where you see the product is the first greatest most powerful thing ever made by human..!
of course while evaluating the GT-100 it should be compared to it's category of FX or a predecessor versions of it
Hope that we are not getting some sort of demo curse with cocked wah on this GT release ..
welcome to the GT world, enjoy your new GT-100, and keep us posted..

yes i can hear the difference but it does not match the expectations from boss, or lets not say expectation, i'd say four years of evolution and a new unit release, it must be offering something that worth it, so far I call it a minor upgrade, unless i see something convening.

There have been plenty of demos plus all of the demos on the sound preview. I think they are very informative. I doubt many of us could improve on that. If the demos that are out so far haven't answered the questions you have I doubt any new ones will. We all use it so differently and what may be great to some of may not be what you're looking for. I don't play death metal and that kind of stuff so the people that are looking for that wouldn't benefit at all from a demo I put together. Or you may be looking for something that is very very specific... again the Sound Preview had *lots* of different styles. Why don't you try heading over to Guitar Center? Ultimately what's going to be most useful is to try it out yourself and get those questions answered first hand.

I doubt any web based demo would be earing in mind the loss on compression you are going to get with MP3/MP4

You do understand that good demos take time, right? And that figuring the new unit out is also going to take time?

Glenn hasn't received his GT-100 yet. I'd expect it would be several weeks of tweaking, recording, and editing before you hear anything from him. I'll also be putting one together, but I get mine a week after Glenn does and the same timelines apply. Won't be the pro level demo he does, but geez...give people a few minutes, would you?
