Sounds totally dull - most probably because of the shooting angle. There's one video where the angle changes and you can hear the drastic effect on the sound. Now THAT should tell you something about demo videos... and mic placement.
But hey, no CW so far.
Oh yeah, btw... if you don't like shredding demos, you gotta have this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95k_h...eature=related - Seth Rogen meets Dominic Monaghan meets Nigel Tufnel. Love the guy.

Apparently a lot of those NAMM videos were routed like this: GT100->Mixer->smallish roland studio monitors.
Another reason why these videos are more or less worthless.

I had a chance to play with the GT-100 at NAMM very briefly, mainly just to dive into the menus a little and get a feel for the programming. The dual-screen thing is kinda cool, and takes a bit of getting used to, but it seems like it will work well compared to the old mix of buttons and knobs.
I'm surprised they didn't add any additional I/O to the back, as that's one department that the POD HD500 really seems to out-do any floorboard Roland/BOSS has ever done. Maybe there's a new GT-PRO coming with more I/O options?
I'm REALLY glad they got rid of the blue backlit screen and went with something that's very crisp and readable.
I'll have to spend more time with this in a quieter environment, but i have to say, having waited for this for a few years, it seems a little underwhelming at first glance.

I don't entirely get it, but it was funny as heck I tell ya!
Did everyone notice how the BOSS named it "Amp Effects Processor" instead of "Guitar Effects Processor" like it's predecessors? I guess they think we'd be fooled into thinking the advanced, high resolution COSM is much more amp like than what we find in 2011's Micro BR-80, JS-8 Jam Station or the GR-55.
I may have been born late at night, but it wasn't last night.
I mean for heaven's sake... The first GT-100 patch, U01-1, is still called "Stack Lead"! Not "Stack Lead HD"
Bad Horsie > Digitech Whammy > 5150 III (50w) 2x12 with BOSS DD-6 (FX loop)
If I didn't constantly read that the digitech RP1000 had a basically unusable harmoniser, I'd be buying one tomorrow. I don't even use a harmoniser that much, I just got a thing about them, and every time you do use them, punters think its space age and awesome. Whatever I buy to replace the old GT8, I seriously doubt it will be the GT100, although it might be a marked down GT10.
EDIT - Maybe I should get a POD HD500?

Echoing my thoughts exactly, which is why I decided to buy it and try it right away rather than read all the reviews, go back and forth on whether to buy it, then send it back. I'm going to get the whole love/hate and return thing out of the way early on.
Nothing like being a pessimist, but I guess at least I won't be surprised when it doesn't deliver. However, if by some slim chance it DOES deliver, I can stop jonesing for the eventual GSP1101 replacement.
