    Greetings Boness welcome aboard.
Ensure you get a reputable brand USB/midi adapter, the cheaper chinese copy ones don't work very well.

Welcome to the board boness, if your having trouble all you have to do is ask. There are numerus people here with alot of knowledge that will gladly help you. The GT8 is one hell of a unit and once you get used to how it works it's really very easy. These work well with the 8 (at least for me)

Hi folks - so I've taken the plunge and bought a M-Audio UNO midi USB cable connector. Installed the latest version of the FX Floorboard (build version 201120626). I've successfully managed to get the FX Floorboard app talking to the GT-8.
My problem is the connection keeps dropping between the two devices for no apparent reason (all 3 green lights extinguish on the UNO).
When this happens the only way I can seem to get the two units talking again is to disconnect the USB from the PC - shutdown and relaunch the Floorboard software, and then finally reconnect the USB cable, green lights comes back on the UNO and I'm back in business.
Happens every 5 - 10 mins so very frustrating.

I've tried connecting on 3 different machines with different OSs (Win 7 Starter, Win Home Premium, Win 8 Consumer Preview) - same symptoms on all three machines.

Anyone every seen this before or am I looking at forking out for another USB - midi connector?

try a google search on "m audio uno problem", these ones are a bit iffy on using the correct driver.
There was also a bad batch of them a few years ago.
