I have been using the GT-10 for a few months, but it's lacking drums and keyboard sounds.
What do you guys use? In the 80's it seemed the drum machine was the obvious choice and I got myself a sequencer back then. From there I used a small 4 track recorder.
Drum machines I have seen (like the Alesis ones) are lacking in sound quality. They all sound like a "techno club beatbox". That's not what I am looking for. Is there another one that is better?
Is the solution a keyboard instead? Those sound like funky/jazz or pop based with preset patterns. There is one Yamaha electronic kit I like which is portable. It has some decent sounds, but then when it comes to recording I have to play it and I would much rather do that on a decent kit.
I want to basically have something that is quick to use to communicate an idea and give myself more time for playing the guitar with it. Are there computer alternatives? Is there a program where I could use the computer and have good sounds? I came across this interesting "siamese" keyboard http://www.prodikeys.com/
It's a computer keyboard and a musical keyboard together. I am tempted to go this route and upgrade whatever I need to get good music sounds. Is Apple the way to go then? I have only used Windows, and maybe there is better sound library with Apple products.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
