EQ & Deep Editing with the GT10
The biggest 2 things I've seen so far with the GT10 over its predecessors has been the more responsive EQ's and the ease of getting to the deep editing features. The EQ on the preamp (and the general GEQ) is very responsive. Even sensitive. I small value change has a large affect on your tone.
Deep editing is easier than ever and the need for a PC based editor is probably not needed. Changing the effects chain is also quite easy! HUGE steps forward for Boss on these items.
Also - the patch naming is really well thought out! Very positive here!
I went through the factory presets and found nothing which struck me as impressive. When I went into the custom building of a patch I found a lot of Boss unique preamps this tme. More than I remember from before. I do not think they are grouped very well, but that is just my opinion as of now. I had a hard time just navigating to the Marshall Hi Gain amp. Another thing which struck me odd is that if you toggle the amp types, it seems to loose its place in the order and begin again from the start of the amp order. Once again, it may be me but I found this frustrating.
Yes - The Boss GT Central bag fits the new GT10 very well. No problems there.
One more thing, the power supply feels more like a toy than an actual power supply. Seems kind of brittle and cheap.
Anyways, I'll get some patches and sounds posted this weekend on the main site page. Probably create a GT-10 eXposed page for all to hear stock and custom presets.
The reason for the power supply difference is that the GT8 takes 14 volts AC. So it uses a transformer based power supply (big and heavy). The GT10 takes 9 volts DC which allows it to use a solid-state "switching" style of power supply. Advantages are that they are cheaper, more efficient and smaller and lighter. Disadvantages are that the switching power supplies have more electrical noise. This wouldn't be all that much of an issue for a well filtered digital device like the GT10.
More great info, thanks Admin, looking forward to hearing some more examples, and your thoughts on the tones vs the 8
I'm glad the GT10 fits in the GT Central bag, because I ordered one last night. My trusty RokSak 2110 is going with my GT8. BTW, the 10 did fit in the RokSak, but you almost needed a shoe horn to get it in. Besides, I am sick of the red interior and FWIW I am looking forward to the blue!!!! How quickly do you ship them? I ordered mine last night (priority mail) and am hoping to have it for the weekend since I am planiing on using the 10 this weekend. I am looking forward to hearing it in a live mix. The clarity of the 10, and not being nearly as boxy, muddy and nasally should make me pretty happy.
Yeah, the new bags have a little more "room" in them them the fit is a good one. No problems.

Cool! Thanks. I hope I get mine today.
Got it, love it (except the blue could have been a little more blue as opposed to navy). Love the logo! Thanks Admin.
Speaking of a little deep editing...
Can someone help me assign my EXpression pedal to control Preamp A Gain and not patch volume?!
I tried and tried but I cannot do it!
You might not be able to. I noticed that you can do this for Expression Pedal 2 (the one you add as an outboard pedal), but the options for expression Pedal 1 are limited.....
(As I remember, anyway)...
