I have the GT-8 floor unit. I tried it thru a Mackie SRM 450 and thru a Marshall El34 50/50 power amp and Marshall 1960a stereo cab. The Mackie was to brght for my ears. I prefered the power amp. I also use a JMP-1 preamp in the loop for my Marshall sounds and use the GT-8 for everthing else. Others love the Active speaker It just didn't sound right to me. Try both make patches with and without speaker sims and see what your ears like. Good luck the GT-8/Gt-pro is a great product.

Keep the power amp and speakers. Actives won't be able to replace the sounds they give you

Hmmmm.....I was just going to post something about this.
Poweramp/cab vs. power'd monitor
So the verdict is do amp/cab? That's the play?

You really got to try it for yourself. It's all a matter of preference & what's important to you.
