View Full Version : GT 8 SYX Import?

Hi, I know that this issue is an "old" one, but searching through the archives I was not able to find a "final" solution: I want to use the GT 8 patches in SYX format on my brand new GT Pro :-)

I got to know that the SYX has to be modified and that Mr. Sleepys editor might be able to do that, but in the version which is availbale from (his?) site the option "GT Pro" mode was removed.

Did I miss something or is this still a pending thing? Just curious... why can I use the SMF for the GT 8 on my Pro without any problems? How are the SMF GT 8 patches obtained?

Thanks in advance,

Christian.

Hi Christian,

I used the old version of Mr. Sleepy's editor to convert from sys to mid, but I did install the new version and didn't keep a backup of the old one. so the only solution I can think about is to wait for a new version from Mr. Sleepy that can work it out again.

Regards,

Manuel

Hi Manuel,

thanks for your reply... argh... :-) BTW was that working for all patches or was something really left for investigation?

Best regards,

Christian.

Hi,

thanks, but that applies to GT 6 patches and NOT to the GT 8 patches... it just does not work :-(

Is nobody else trying to use the GT 8 syx patches?!

If I still miss some obvious thing please forgive me and help me out :-)

Regards,

Christian.

So finally the chain looks like:

1) GT-8 syx file -> Mr. Sleepys editor
2) change the patch address there and save
3) saved syx file -> SMF (via Syx2Midi)
4) import SMF -> GT Librarian
5) adjust patch address (does not match address selected in 2)
6) transfer to GT-Pro

Puh :-)
