I'm thinking of buying a GT-Pro (if I have the money), so that I can make more routing for my amps. What I'm really trying to ask is, can the postions of the two LOOPS in the GT-Pro be set in two seperate positons? What I'm planning to do is to put an amp's preamp in Loop 1, put it in a patch, then put delay behind it, then send a direct out from Loop 2 into the amp's poweramp, I'm also putting a BBE Maximiser 482i in the Pre-loop (so in the FX chain, Loop 1 then Pre-loop is before delay, followed by Loop 2 after the delay).

OR, I put the amp's preamp in the Pre-loop, the 482i in Loop 1, and direct out in Loop 2 (so this time, Pre-loop, then Loop 1, followed by delay then Loop 2 out).

The set-up that I hope to acheive here is to mostly use the GT-Pro's sounds into a seperate poweramp (not the amp I hope to put the preamp in) with the Sonic Maximiser always on and then when I feel like it, loop the amp in with its poweramp active and driving other speaker cabs but have the delay and also the Sonic Maximiser after the preamp and before the poweramp.

Please help, ASAP. Thanx to those who can help in advance.

Im not sure what youre trying to do here with using the loop to connect to the poweramp ,why dont you just use the main or sub out and use the 4 cable method to connect the preamp to one of the loops.

If you read page 52 in the manual youll se that loop1 and 2 cant be set to different positions in the chain.

Thanx for the reply. The amp I'm using is an all tube head and is a bit expensive (so I don't want to buy 2 of them). What I'm really trying to do is to bypass the power tubes whenever I can (to save big on power tube wear/tear, right?) and also since the amp isn't stereo (and I like stereo effects, plus powertube compression), I want to use both sounds from the amp and external poweramp (both the tube preamp driven) simultaneously when I'm playing big leads.

I'm fine now, since I've found a better alternative by 'connecting' the guitar to the GT-Pro, then looping the amp (Pre-loop send > amp in > amp preamp out > 482i channel 1 > Pre-loop return) in the Pre-loop and putting the Loop 2 in branch out mode into the amp's poweramp (so I can also drive the amp's poweramp and get the power tube sound, with delay and so), plus also putting the 482i's second channel in Loop 1 and finally the main out into another stereo poweramp.

So overall, what I can acheive here is to use the amp for my big leads that use only ambient effects, and also use the GT-Pro to beef up the sound (while using the same preamp) into another external stereo poweramp, for one patch; and beef up the GT-Pro's sound with the 482i in other patches that don't require me to use the tube amp.

BTW, you can't move the position of Pre-loop, can you?

OK so thats what you were getting at.

No the pre loop cant be moved.
