I have been using my GT-8 for a while and I am very satisfied I have just purchased a GT-PRO on eBay which will come soon as I want a rack unit and some of the other Pro features. I have been assuming that from a tweaking and patch creation point of view, there is really no difference from the GT-8 when going to the Pro (nothing else in my rig is imeediately changing) Is this a safe assumption?

i'd say they are the same...the PRO has a few more output options, but tone wise I think they are the same. i opted for the PRO because i did not like having my entire rig on the floor for some drunk dude to ruin in the middle of a gig!!!

I think (?) the PRO offers more assigns.

Is the Behringer FCB1010 Midi foot controller a good option for the Pro? Is there a better one that come witht two on board expression pedals

i like the fcb1010, but think it is very hard to program...unless you can get an online pc editor that actually works. i went with the FC200 and it is SO EASY...especially since the pro is already designed for it. and if you buy it from music123.com, you get a free expression pedal...so for more money, far less headaches, you get the same options as the fcb1010.

fcb1010 is cool, it took a lot of time for me to succesfully program it so unless you are a complete moron like me you will soon master it
plus its much cheaper than fc200

i agree the fcb1010 is an awesome unit, and i also agree that i'm a moron when it comes to things like this...so i'm far better off with something EASY. the fcb1010 is probably overall more versatile with regards to being programmed to run a wide variety of gear...but for me the difference in cost was easily overweighed by the ease of use with the FC200.

both units are very sturdy and road worthy.

With the editor its a breeze to program,i have had no problems with the editor, havent used the latest version yet though.

Better value than the FCB1010 is very hard to find.

Heres a link to the editor if someone needs it http://www.mtnsys.com/faq-fcb/PCEditorBeta.htm

I really dont know what youre trying to do,the syx from the FCB1010 is a highly personalized setup ,my syx from the FCB wont help you at all,its just gonna make things worse.

Just try and program the FCB yourself and learn by doing ,thats my advice.

I agree to some extent but I have used the FCB with many other units and swapped .syx files to programme it with the common uses.

Well if im not entirely wrong,i think the only thing standard in my setup of the FCB is the volume control on the second expressionpedal, all the other buttons is set to my liking and CC numbers also, some even transmitts both the patch number and two CC commands at the same time.

There is almost nothing standard with my setup, with another GT-pro´s that isnt programmed like mine it would control completely different paremeters if any at all ,that is besides the volume control and i think that one was actually given from when the FCB was new.
