i know someone who might be able to sell me the gt-pro for 500$ CAD, just wanna know; is it worth it?

I've been using mostly single effect pedals, and expanding my chain but having all of that and setting it up has been a big pain in the ass. i still haven't been able to try out the GT-PRO because I can't find a shop that has it....so i'm asking you guys.

also, I have like.....5 FS-6 pedals lying around. I don't wanna spend 300$ on a FS-200, so would the FS-6 be good enough to switch between effects? (I already have an EV-5).

also....a few more questions. excuse my total noobness, but I've never owned a rack processor and I can't find any other place that could explain more about this...

1) If I record from guitar straight into the computer, would the sound be MUCH better than if I recorded the usual way with a guitar > mt-2 > pc?

2) How many effect "pedals" could I connect from the rack?

3) I read somewhere that there's a guitar synth. Is it comparably to the GR-20? Because I'm really looking to have one of those sweet organ sounds that would be quite useful in a power metal band.

4) At the moment, I have these pedals: Ds-1 , MT-2, BD-2, TS-9, DD-6, PS-6, IBANEZ SUPERTUBE STL, CE-5 and GE-7. If I get the GT-PRO, which pedals should I ditch/keep? (I have a TU-2, but I love it too much)

I will try to help you best I can. $500 for the Pro is a really good deal, it will give you all the effects and amp models you need without the need for patch cables, and you also get a USB audio interface. If any of your shops around you have the GT-8, go try it out. It is the same processor as the Pro.

The FS-6's can control lots of things on the Pro, you can hook up 2 or 4 of them, I think it would be 2, but I'm not sure. You can also get cheaper MIDI foot controllers than the FC-200. Behringer and Rocktron both make ones with similar features for around $150 USD.

1) I'm assuming you are recording direct into your PC's sound card now? If so, the USB audio interface recording will sound better and clearer, at least it did in my experience. A cool thing with it is that you can record your dry guitar with no amp models or effects on, and then re-record the guitar with whatever effects and amp models you want without having to play it again. This process is called re-looping.

2) Are you talking about external or internal effects pedals?

3) There are a few other synth pedals out there. I know one is made by Axon.

4)Most of those pedals can be found in the Pro. My guess is you can get rid of most of them, but your ears will have to decide that for you
