hi,
im currently thinking of buying the GT-Pro but after reading this forum and getting very little info elsewhere im getting somewhat concerned. its the Pro or nothing, the GT-8 is not really intresting for me.
some q's i hope someone can help me with:

1. what about the software, ive noticed the GT-8 have an update but theres none for the Pro, is it because those changes are already implemented or have boss just not bothered with the Pro caus it doesnt sell in any numbers...?

2. i've frequently read the sound being better on the gt-8 after A/B'ing it. unless having both units its not really an issue but if this is true it feels something is really wrong with the Pro, whats with the extra $ if it sounds less good?

3. how does the Pro perform when using an external pre-amp?

this being my first post i hope i get some ansers that turn me inte a Pro owner, i really like the look of it...

thanx, lallarn

1. As far as I know there's no updates yet for GT-pro. I don't even know how to check sw version of it. I'm not worrying about this, since gt-pro came a little later than GT-8 which was in production before pro. Maybe sw is a little different to PRO also?

2. I don't believe that GT-8 sounds better. I have played both GT-8 and GT-pro and would say I prefer pro. As for the sounds, I don't remember hearing any differences. But pro should contain some better converters / parts. It also contains editor (which is fast and blast to use), USB out, digital out, 2 loops, 1pre loop and I/O options are better.

3. Well I play with external preamp. I put it in GT-pro loop 1 since my preamp didn't have effects loop. That way I can put compressors / distortions before my external preamp and have time based effects after preamp. It performs very good once you get levels set up.
Of course for the purists this ain't no way since it contains more A/D conversions... they would buy somekind of swithchblade / looper rack to use with another preamp :)
