connecting gt-8 into effects loops

I did the 4 cable method, but i prefer to use my amps preamp instead of the gt-8s, so i only want the effects, but not the gt-8's distortion or preamp, So how do i do it.
Sorry for what's probably a stupid question, but i find all this effects business confusing.

i just read the the 4cm again and it says you can adjust your marshall distortion with the marshall, but when i try the 4cm all the controls except the volume don't do anything?
Those instructions are for the gt-6, not the gt-8, is that why, i just ignored the first bit.

Try reading this (http://www.thestompbox.net/Home/ViewArticle.aspx?ArticleID=26), it covers the 4CM for the GT-8 - pay particular attention to the bits about the GT-8 Loop status. That should clear up your confusion.

Hello Im new with this but please if someone can tell me how to connect the Gt-8 into a Marshall TSL 122, i like a lot my amp channels and i want the gt8 only for the effects... can you tell me please how to connect it, i wanto to mantein independent my preamp distorsion froms the preamp of my marshall and want to use only the gt8 effects...
sorry about the stupid question bt i tried a lot of diferent configuration and nothing happens....
