hi all, this is my first post and hopefully not a dumb question. heres the backstory-i live in charleston sc and my band and i recorded our record in a swank studio in memphis tenn where they had every amp/effect combination i could ever want. its was really cool because i used several configurations but bad because my mark 4 couldnt recreate what i did on our record in a live setting so i did some research and decided to go the gt-pro route. im very happy the pro. my rig consists of a rocktron all access controller, two gt pros which have the exact duplicate settings in case something happens, two ernie ball volume pedals to control parameters in the pro, a boss tuner, a demonizer preamp i leave in the pre loop at all times which i used for my main heavy tone(the pro comes very close but the demonizer is a very special preamp/pedal) and two radial direct boxes because the xlr out of the pro pegs the board way to hard for my taste. theyre throwing us on the road as soon as the record is mastered and distributed so were getting our live show together and playing dates around our area. the entire band use in ear monitors and i use the sub out into the monitor board so im sure to always hear myself. ok now that you know whats involvded heres my question...i want to use the gt pro direct with no amp whatsoever...is it wise to use my mackie hr824;s to guage what my rig is going to sound like in a live setting through a large p.a.?

I would say probably it will still sound a little bit different from venue to venue but that is what the Global EQ is for. Just try to do it as loud or as close to the volume you think it will be at at the gig. OT, but how do you like the Demonizer in the Loop? I have heard good things about that pedal.

theres no way i can tweak on the kind of systems the clubs have that we play and we always open for bigger bands so theres not an opporutnity to tweak at a soundcheck, its on and off when youre the opener. i use the demonizer in the pre loop and it kills for my main sound. the pro comes close on some amp sims but no cigar. but theres not another actual preamp or amp that touches the demonizer in my opinion. the demonizer is an awesome preamp.
