Finally got around to taking my favorite guitar and upgrading the bridge pickup on it. Went well, and wasn't hard to do (although I've only just spliced the new pickup in for now -- I'll go back later and solder it).

I went with a Seymour Duncan Custom Trembucker. Like others, I'm too jaded to even think about trying to describe the results during this "honeymoon" period; I'm sure within a week I'll be planning to upgrade my new upgrade. So, for now, I'll just say I'm glad I did it. My American Standard Strat will be my next victim; I'm already looking for pickups for it....

Anyway, the guitar is the black-ish one in the upper left of this pic:

and, among its many virtues, it features perhaps the best-looking headstock ever created:

It certainly has the best Squier/Fender headstock I've ever seen :P
And the guitar itself looks great as well! What type is it?

No clue. It was my first electric, and I can't remember why I picked this one.

I think it was made in '88 or '89, and may have been one of the first made in Korea. It has a very Ibanez vibe to it, and I sometimes wonder if it wasn't possible that this was made by Ibanez for Fender as they ramped up their production in Korea or something like that.

As to "what type is it", it does vaguely resemble the Showmaster (or is it Stagemaster) line.....
