4CM BBe maximizer questions

If I was using the GT-PRO with the 4CM and a BBe sonic maximizer would I need the sonic maximizer with balanced or unbalanced connections?

The way I see it now is ;

balanced connections = TO MIXER ( BBe 882i for those running Direct Out)
unbalanced connections = TO GUITAR AMP ( BBe 482i for 4CM )

I know every connection on my amp (H&K Warp X) is unbalanced and the fx loop supports +4dB or -10dB but I'm still confused about which one to get...I want to think I would have a higher S/N ratio with the 882i even though i'd be using unbalanced outputs with balanced inputs but I feel this is wrong and I'd really appreciate if someone could explain if and why.

If your amp has unbalanced connections, I am not aware of any benefit that balanced connections would give you.

As for the explanation, I do not technichally know the answer but also feel that any benefit to s/n ratio using the 882i would be negated by using unbalanced connections.
