I plan to use the GT Pro as a effect processor going throught the loop of a Marshall head.
My idea is as follows:
1) guitar out to marshall head imput
2) marshall head loop set to parallel
3) place the GT-Pro through the Marshall loop so that:
- I only want to use my Marshall 3 channel preamp stage as the only preamp within the GT-Pro effect chain, but respecting the order of effects, that is, keeping the preamp at the GT-Pro Fx Loop 1/2 section.
- Outputting the GT-Pro through the Marshall power amp stage

This way I will have:

A) an uncolored Marshall head signal and
B) a GT-Pro processed signal using the Marshall head's as preamp in the Fx Loop 1/2 chain of the GT-Pro and being able to use all the GT-Pro effects in the order they are supposed to...........

BOTH coming out of the power amp section of a Marshall head in parallel.

Purity rocks!!! the problem that I have is:

How do I make this connection??
Please help me!!

(guitar clean signal --> Marshall head / Marshall head Fxloop send-->GT-Pro Fxloop 1 send / GT-Pro Fxloop main out-->Marshall head Fxloop return)? Would this work?

Hello, -welcome

(guitar clean signal --> Marshall head / Marshall head Fxloop send-->GT-Pro Fxloop 1 send / GT-Pro Fxloop main out-->Marshall head Fxloop return)? Would this work?

I think you would want to go with -

Guitar -> GT-Pro input -> GT-Pro FX send -> Marshall input -> Marshall effects send -> GT-Pro effects return -> Gt-Pro output (main or sub) -> Marshall effects return = - Wha La - 4CM

or if you don't want any GT-Pro effects before your Marshall (not sure why)
then you could use

Guitar -> Marshall input -> Marshall effects send -> GT-Pro FX return -> GT-Pro output (main or sub) -> Marshall effects return.

Just some options

Hmm... I assume by saying you want an effect colored signal in parallel with a straight head signal means you want two channels... One DRY and one WET.

I hate to tell you this, but I don't believe there is a way to do this with a GT product unless you are not going to use any effects of the GT in front of the Marshall... Meaning your wah, compressor and whatever else are going to have to be after the Marshall's preamp. Then, if you CAN deal with that, you would not be able to have both signals coming out of the marshall's poweramp unless it was a stereo amp. Basically, to do what you are trying to do, you would have to have two amps or a True Stereo Amp... can't have the same preamp, and you would need a splitter box. One leg of the splitter straight to an amp, and the other leg to the input of the gt-pro and hookup via 4CM to your second amp for your wet signal.

I know it sounds like a pain in the ass.. but that's what you got...

You can however, run your GT-Pro in the 4CM with one amp, and run your Left Output to the FX return of the Marshall, and run the Right Output to a mixerboard/PA and have your full FX signal there, but any effect you put before the loop will be on both the marshall and the pa... and anything after the loop will be on only the PA.

Hope that made sense...

Possibly I misinterpreted the initial question? after reading lazertronics response.

You could also achieve this by using a separate rack mixer to get the result you want. Thereby you would be adding processed effect to your dry signal. You could use one by Rocktron or Ground Control (Digital Music)
