Did another gig last night with my FCB-1010. I'd it setup just on a whim pedals 1-4 to change patches, and pedals 5-10 turning on and off effects. What an unprecedented disaster on stage. Even if I was Michael Flatley I couldn't have danced on that footboard quick enough to make the changes I wanted, and seamlessly.

I sing backing vocals in my band on every single song, and let me tell you, going from lush full bodied sound with chorus and acoustic sim, to a rectifier crunch with a tube screamer driving it is impossible to do while trying to sing into a microphone and hit 4 pedals consecutively. Worse than that is the transition from one sound to the other taking a few seconds by the time you've stepped on each pedal in turn, and the awful sounds in between turning on and off each effect - drying out the sound one stage at a time, before changing patch, and having to bring effects in one at a time again.

I'm going back to a patch based setup, with only three switchable effects, pedal pitch, pedal wah, and the feedbacker for those Parisian Walkways moments. A hell of a lot easier IMHO!

I agree that the easiest way is going mainly patchbased, thats the thing i really hated using stompboxes having to tapdance to get a couple of effects at the same time as changeing channel on the amp.

Now i control my whole rig with the FCB1010,advanced but simple i would call it.
