Hey guys,

Still playing around with my GT-Pro and FCB-1010. I've a new problem you might be able to help with. I've pedals 1 through 4 on my FCB assigned to switch patches, no problems there. However, the rest of the pedals are designed to act as stomp boxes turning effects on and off.

How do you program pedal 10 for example to turn on expa for a pedal wah? I've managed to press 10, activate the wah, but when the pedal reaches the end of the range (towards 0), the effect is off. I've set pedal 10 for cc#8, and set the assign function on the pro so that cc#8 turns wah on/off.

Any help, ideas would be gratefully accepted, I've worked most of everything else out :-)

Owen.

Hi Ned,

Check this post in the same forum:
http://www.bossgtcentral.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=5700

The setup of both the FCB1010 and the GT pro for FX switching are explained there in detail. Note that your FCB has to have firmware 2.3 or higher!

Also, a very nice PC editor for the FCB is mentioned there.

Good luck,

I'd seen that post before, and it doesn't really answer my question. That thread is about using an FCB-1010 to turn effects on and off, and if you read my post, you will see I have no issue doing that.

What I'm looking to do, is press pedal 10 to turn my pedal wah on, and then use expa to control it, and pedal 10 again to turn it off. This is proving difficult. I've assigned cc#8 for wah on pedal 10. From what I'm seeing, the expa also uses cc#8 then, so when I put the expression pedal to full deflection either way, it sends 0 or 127 to the pro on cc#8 thereby turning the wah on or off just like stepping on pedal 10 directly. I guess I'm wondering if I assign pedal 10 a cc#8, and the expression pedal is part of that pedal's programming, can I set a different cc# for the pedal position?

Ned,

This is exactly how I have set my board up. Indeed assigning a different CC number to the expression pedal is the answer. For exaple: CC8 is used to turn the wah effect on / off with fsw 10 and CC9 is used for the wah pedal position controlled by one of the expression pedals. I also program the same exp.pedal / CC combination for the other footswitches (1-9), so that when I step on one of them (for example to switch delay on / off) my wah pedal still works.
