I use a Behringer FCB1010 footcontroller with my Pro. Is there a way to keep Assign Hold off and still have a global foot volume? I set the lower half of my floorboard to switch patches, the upper half to switch effects on and off, and one expression pedal to set the global volume. When I switch patches, I would like to have the effects on/off according to the new selected patch, but the volume according to the current position of my expr. pedal. Is this possible?
An Assign-Hold option per effect would deffinately be on my whish-list for a software update from Boss!

Hi,

I don't have the answer to your question, but I am really interested in your split-setup of the FCB1010. I manage to program it for switching patches, but not for switching effects on and off. Any tips or tricks you'd like to share?

Greetz,

To have a fsw switch effect on / off, I use CC1 and CC2 on the FCB1010
CC1: MidiChannel 1 <- same as Pro
CC1: CC# = 5
CC1: Value = 0

CC2: MidiChannel 1
CC2: CC# = 5 (same!)
CC2: Value = 127

No patch change programmed for this fsw in this bank.

When you set these values, the FCB will send the first time you press the fsw for CC#5 value 0. The next time it will send value 127. The next time value 0 again and so on.

The Pro's midichannel should be set to the same midichannel (in this case channel 1). I want to switch the chorus for explample on/off:
assign 1: on
assign 1 target: CHE
assign 1 source: CC5
assign 1 min: 0,On
assign 1 max: 127,Off
assign mode: normal

The first time I press the fs the FCB sends 0: So the effect will switch on. The next time the FCB sends 127. The effect wil switch off.

When you have a path where the chorus is already on, you probably want to switch it off the first time you press the fsw. In that case you should swap the "Assign 1 min 0,On", "Assign 1 max 127,Off" to "Assign 1 min 0,Off", "Assign 1 max 127, On"

I'm at work at this moment, so it's all from memory

Holy crap, i ran a search for that controller and it looks awesome! It's 2x cheaper than Boss' equivalent and seems to have more functionality.

I recently bough one,and it seems to be very good value at least,i guess the Boss FC200 has the possibility of interacting more from what ive read in the GT-pro manual.

There is an unofficial free but also exellent PC editor for the FCB 1010 that you can dowload here http://www.mtnsys.com/faq-fcb/PCEditor.htm

It truly makes life alot easier.

Well, it works. Or, it should work, once I get the upgrade EPROM. That's right, this functionallity was added after I bought the thingie. No wonder I couldn't make it work :(
