Hi !!

This is my first post here, but i have been using Boss products for nearly two decades.

Ill start with a little story on my experience with these products.

I currently own a VF-1 and a couple of Boss pedals that ive had since the 80´s (DD3, OC2).

All of these products have been really fantastic both in sound and reliability, not a single glitch.

The VF-1 i use in the effect loop of my Marshall JCM800 (2205) and it really sounds amazingly good.

I only use the effects when apropriate and not the the amp sims when i use distorsion, anything else would of coarse be insanity at least in my opinion, but when i play using clean sounds i use a tad of the preamp sim of the Fender twin

The VF-1 has done miracles to the sound of the clean channel of my amp,coz sadly enough the clean channel is as bad as the distorted channel is awesome ,but with this setup i have achieved a really exellent clean shimmering sound,of coarse after alot of tweaking.

I control my rig with a midipedal, ampswitching and all,the only drawback of this setup really is that the VF-1 makes the sound go silent for an instant when i change patches even the direct sound cuts out.

Now this is when i come to the real question for those of you that know:

Does the sound of the GTpro go silent between patches when you change them ?

If it doesnt i would be VERY interrested in the GTpro coz i really love the VF-1 but the patch changes are not very smooth, and i could make good use of the VF-1 for practicing and recording at home and also as a backup so it wouldnt be a waste at all really.

I hope you can help me with this question.

BTW im from Stockholm Sweden ,well actually from the surburbs 20 Km north of the capitol.

There are 2 switching modes on the Pro: Normal (could be called something else though..) and smooth. When it is set to normal there is no silence between patches. When it is set to smooth (this is when you want e.g. the delay to spill over), there can be a little silence depending on the complexity of the patches.

Hope this helps...

I bought the Pro a few days ago. The effects and amp-sims are very good! I had a GT-6 once, and I can tell the difference. The GT-Pro sounds much more open, and has more flexibility. I have a FCB1010 controler with it.

Nice !

I also will be using my FCB1010 that i recently bought if im getting a pro (im VERY tempted),great value and the unofficial pc editor is a great tool to easy program the controller and copy the midi commands to another footswitch or even whole banks.

Do you also use the editor for the FCB1010 ?.

Guitarreverend: Just curious if you could maybe do a quick comparison between the 6 and the pro. I had posted a while back but no one had owned both so I couldn't really get a top notch answer.

It has been a while since I sold my GT6, but here are a few things that I noticed. The Pro sounds more transparent than the GT6. This makes a lot of the effects sound a little better (although I liked the sounds on the GT6. I switched to a rack setup because of all the cable hassle etc.) I did not like the wha's on the GT6, and that's why i bought a Crybaby pedal. But on the Pro the wha's sound much more convincing and I am now thinking of selling the Crybaby. The Pro also has a little more effects, amp-sims and other nifty stuff.
And there are some minor things that can come in handy too. The editor that comes with the Pro for example shows a graphical EQ-curve when you change the settings of the EQ.
On the other hand: The effects on the GT-6 sounds very good too. The difference in tone-quality is not that great. This means i.m.h.o that one will only bennefit from the Pro if one knows well how to play and use effects and stuff.
