I know we have all been wondering why on earth it has taken so long for the GTPro to be released, they have certainly seemed to be dragging their feet, and missing out on sales

Well i saw today that TC Electronics have released G System

http://www.tcelectronic.com/Default.asp?Id=5960

http://www.tcelectronic.com/Files/Products/G-System/index.html

apparently its around 1395 Euro + taxes

i saw GT Pro for 750 Euro plus u need a controller euro 350 +taxes
(and im sure u can probably get better prices, those are the what i found with a quick search)

so perhaps Roland/Boss are positioning the GTPro to be cheaper alternative to the Gsystem

just a thought

the Pro is cheap when compared with TC GForce, Eventide Eclipse etc

Yep, it is nice. It'll be interesting to see if this hybrid form-factor becomes the standard. It does have some design quirks: On the foot controller, I think the row of footswitches that start with "up" should be offset laterally from the bottom-most row -- like the FC-200. Makes it much easier to stomp since you're less concerned about avoiding the lower row.....

FX only, right -- no pre-amps?

No pre-amp - lot of $$$ - many unanswered questions...

It looks as though the internal processing is 24 bit / 96k - so I'd hope that the quality is hi and the fx algorithms are sophisticated and dense. Should be for that ticket price.

FX only

its the flagship Guitar FX for TC now

24bit 96kz is kool

i was wondering how the FX quality is gunna compare the

Gmajor and GT Pro

i really think to, the G system is really aimed at the Rack style consumer, who spends several $k on their rigs, with FX and loops and switchers etc

The Pro with controller is likely to attract those who want those things but are unable to pay the high costs in getting a full rig
