Has any one here figured out what additional features the GT-PRO has over the GT-8? Of course, the GT-PRO is rack mount and has more inputs, outputs, and a USB port. From there, I see the GT-PRO can string a few more effects and presets. However, I don’t see many differences beyond those few items. Does any one have more info that? I would definitely prefer the rack mount, but I am not sure I see what justifies the huge price difference between these two units.

Well, the editing software's another difference. An additional FX loop, plus XLRs.....aw, heck I dunno.

Last week I actually started writing a webpage that would compare the two feature-by-feature -- it seemed like a good way to pass the time waiting for the Pro, and somebody should do this, but it ain't me.....

I'm not sure the differences can be fully itemized until we get the manual. Fer instance, the GX-700 had the ability to configure an FC-200 so the two could converse. I've looked at the MIDI spec for the GT-8, and it appears to have the same kinda support, at least to some extent, but the manual for the -8 doesn't talk about setting it up with the -200. And it remains to be seen whether the Pro will have additional support, or have the same support but documented....

As I wrote elsewhere in the Pro forum, the unit is pricey -- esp. as some have pointed out you can almost get two -8s for the price of one Pro. However, for those of us who are convinced that having "Pro" gear confers said title on the purchaser, we shall gladly pay the price but not count the cost..... Esp. if the Pro lasts at least a decade (as did my GX-700).....
