when Im at home I often run keep up to speed by playing through the bands set lists and as we have some simple multitrack recordings of most of them I just mute my track and play the track back through the GT10.
That lead me to think as I quickly get sick of selecting tracks to play on the PC and pressing play, then just missing the 1st beat that it would be nice if there was a lightweight media player that responded to midi messages.
The ideal player would
1) play at least one of the main recognised sound formats (midi, mp3, wav etc)
2) User configurable play list with tracks selectable via midi PC commands.
3) Some minimal Playback control via midi commands ie Play, Stop, Rewind
I did a search yesterday and didn't find anything close and was wondering if anyone on hear uses or knows if one exists.
In the meantime I have managed an improvement by using Guitar rig 4, setting up a preset with just the Tape deck I can manually load a wav file and then control it (start stop and rewind) with the FC300. Just a shame that guitar Rig wont preload different wavefiles in different presets otherwise I would have a working solution
