Im new, so please help anybody?

Well ive just bought the gt-6 and i cant get the good sounds i want. So i found this website and found i can download patches that people have made. Well can somebody please tell me what leads i have to get and how i can get the patches onto the gt-6 as i have no idea.

Hi Hendo,

First of all, you'll need a program capable of handling sysex files. There is one available as a free download on the home page of this site.
There is another one called GT Manager, by Partheus Software. It gives you a graphical representation of the GT6 and gives you control of every parameter.

Once you have your program, download a sysex file, then open it in either program by going to; File>Open and you will see the settings on your computer.

From here, there are two ways to transfer it to your GT.

1/ via MIDI. Unquestionably the easiest method, you will needto have a MIDI cable connected from the computer interfaces Midi out to the MIDI in on the GT. You will notice that as you open/audition patches on the computer, they will automatically be playable on the GT6. If you'd like to save the patch, just press "write" twice.

2/ If you don't have MIDI, you can just programme the patch manually.
