Hi group, I am still enjoying my GT-10, but want to bring out some of my other effects and use them with the gt-10, just for experiment or if it sounds good forever.

I have a marshall JVM410H and am using the GT-10 in the 4 cable method.

I want to use my metal muff, bbe green screamer and mxr 10-band EQ, into the input of my amp.

I also want to use my bbe sonic stomp in the effects loop, where exactly will i put this pedal, I know it will be the last piece of the chain, but could you tell me physically what wires from the amp or gt-10 will go into it???

Has anyone else used any pedal externally since getting your gt-10, if so how did you you use them and did you have any good results?

I thought about putting my gt-10 completely in the loop, but I just started using the wah and I believe that it goes to the input of the amp, is this correct.

Anyway how would you hook up the metal muff, bbe green screamer, mxr 10 band eq and bbe sonic stomp to work in conjunction with the gt-10???

Do you think I will have to invest in another noise gate, or is there someway to utilize the gt-10's noise gates??

Thank you for any input you can provide

I love using my old stomp boxes in conjunction with my GT-10. My amp is a Marshall JCM2000 TSL100 and my GT-10 sounds best thru its front input. I tried the 4 cable method (with my GT-6 as well) but because my amp mixes its effects loops with the preamp via FX Mix knobs, I couldn't get enough control of the amp's EQ using the amp's Bass, Mids, Treble, Volume and Gain knobs and I didn't want to bypass the preamp altogether. So I use a few of my old pedals to give me back that lost FX loop character to my tone.

My pedalboard chain is: Guitar (loaded with EMG active pickups) -> TU-2 Tuner -> GT-10 -> modded CS-3 Compressor Sustainer -> MXR 10-Band EQ -> BBE Sonic Stomp -> NS-2 Noise Suppressor -> Amp's Input. I'm a metal player and have connected these effects in every possible combination. This order works best for me and really cuts through. My NS-2 doesn't chop off any of my sustain or delay echoes and my rig is dead quiet. Also, if my GT-10 were to die then I could insert my modded SD-1 Super Overdrive (TS808 mod + 2X Gain Boost mod) immediately after my compressor to get the crunch I need in a pinch. If my SD-1 and CS-3 weren't modded then I would never use them because off-the-shelf they either deaden my tone or don't have enough boost. The Monte Allums mods I installed (www.monteallums.com) are my secret weapons and really make those pedals useful for me, especially the CS-3 which is always on, and enhance my GT-10 beautifully. I keep my MXR EVH Phase-90 and BF-3 Flanger on the shelf as backups and will never part with them. I've had too much fun with them over the years to let them go.
