I have had my Gt8 for about 3 years & LOVE it. I use 2 amps & a ton of the featuers it has. I'm really thinking about upgrading to the 10.

I have 3 questions:

1 is an assumption on my part as I think I can But... Can I model an acoustic on one side & an electric on the other. This will be awesome as I am in a 3 piece band & we cover things like Tom Petty Matchbox 20 lots of tunes where having a clean acoustic on one side & a dirty electric on the other delayed a little would be great.

2 I use the synth sounds in the GT8 but they are a pain & I have problems with them . Currently when going from one patch to a synth patch I have to stop all the strings from ringing once I change to the synth patch or I get no sound. Then I have that phantom note problem when moving from one not to another I will get an extra note that I did not play between the 2 I did play. Has this issue be imporved on.

3 This question perhaps is a matter of taste. But have they improved the sound for the amp models. I recently bought a POD XTLive mainly for the bass amp models to use for recording. I felt Line 6 really had better sounding amp models. However, Boss has better effects & all the different options the GT8 allows me Boss wins hands down in a side by side.

Let me know what your thougfht are on any or all of my questions.

Here is my 2 cents as to why My GT8 is better than Line 6 xt live so won't be upgrading the line 6 but will for the Boss. With Boss the things that are better is 1 the solo ability to kick in for a lead sending it over the top all I can do with l6 is hit a distortion box. The multiple control options Boss gives me are a sub expression pedal, control switch, expression switch & pedal. I can control any paramiter with Boss. L6 I have 1 or 2 control options & only a handfull of things I can change. Boss has many more effects that I can use at the same time. L6 gives me reverb & 2 other effects thats it. The L6 synths can't even compare with the Boss sounds. Boss lets me delay the amp models I am using really giving me a fat sound.

1. Yes.
2. I don't know. I'll have to check later.
3. Oh HELL yes, but they seemed to have sacrificed the humanizer in the process. It sounds like crap now.

Thanks for the reply. Great to know as being able to do a lot of that will really fill out the band.

If anyone has word on the synth sounds I would really appreciate it. What I do now is go from a distorted guitar playing cords to changing to a synth patch for string like notes for a verse. right now i have to stop all the strings from moving as i change the patch other wise my first note will not sound. In some cases i also get ghost notes i did not play. If the new GT10 has imporved on this then it is decided must have the upgrade. who am Ikidding I must have it based on the 2 answeres I already have.
