is there any chance to record via the USB-port under linux?
Is it impossible to write a driver for the PRO?

In the same position here. have to use the headache machi...uh, windowz machine to transfer patches between gt-pro <-> computer(s).

Hi Fubbe,

Have you found any information yet concerning utilizing the USB feature of the GT-Pro
under Linux? I am planning on ordering a GT-Pro sometime in the next week or so, and
while I use Windows XP for various home studio stuff currently, it would be fantastic to
be able to use the GT-Pro in Linux with Ardour and other open source software.

I just recently retired from my job at Red Hat, where I maintained the X Window System
(video drivers, etc.) for the last 5+ years. Now that I have a fair amount of spare time
on my hands, I might be interested in starting a project to hack on OSS support for the
GT-Pro if someone hasn't already started such a project. I know others in the Linux
community who would likely be interested in working on this as well.

Feel free to email me directly with your findings, or to discuss this further if you like.

I certainly would. Things are a bit hectic right now in my life, but once everything is settled i'll probably have some time and energy to dedicate to such project.
