My GT Pro is in bound!

Since my favorite dealer, Sweetwater Music, just dropped their price on the GT Pro to $699, I pulled the trigger and ordered one. Now I'm going to have both a GT Pro and GT8 though the GT8 will be primarily used as a MIDI foot controller. However, I could still use the GT8 in conjunction with the Pro if I want an extra programmable FX loop or anything else. :)

I wanted to get the Pro to simplify my set-up and overall rig wiring. I also want to use the dual Preamps with Harmonic Convergers and I cannot do that with the GT8 and still use the SPDIF out to my PC.

I'm also going to wire in my Digitech Brian May Red Special pedal to the Pro's Pre Loop.

You could put the 8 in the loop of the Pro and try to use 4 preamps at once, or 4 different FX from FX1 and FX2. Haha. You gotta try that to see how it sounds

I may end up doing that. I thought about putting the Red Special pedal in the GT8's loop then having the GT8 in the Pro's Pre Loop but I'm always trying to keep the number of devices my guitar signal has to pass through to a minimum.

I'm basically looking at the Pro as my amp and stomp boxes. Eventually I'm going to get a high end FX processor (looks like the Eventide Eclipse is going to be the one) so I'll have lots of effects at my disposal. :)

I just pulled at Sweetwater today. Fought the whole 8 vs. Pro battle for a long time, but Pro was calling my name from the begining, the price tag wasn't though. I'm using the 4CM with a Soldano SLO head. We'll see. I'm excited.
