Can i use gt5 patches with the gt6?

If you're using the GT Manager , by Partheus Software, it has a function whereby you can convert a GT5 patch to a GT6 patch and this will work in most cases.
All you do is, open the GT5 sysex in GT Manager, click Edit>convert file format>GT6
It'll then tell you whether conversion was successful.
That's it!

i tried using some of the gt6 patches here and they didn't sound too good with my rig.
i was hoping since the gt5 has more patches available, that some of those might sound better.

Yes... not many of them sound good. There are one or two. Don't forget that when you convert some of the patch settings are lost in the translation. However, it's worth having a look at them and tweaking them so that they may add to your sonic pallette! :wink:
