Hello all. I'm new to this forum and just recently purchased a BOSS GT-8. I looked through this site, but i couldn't find the answer to my question on recording from the GT-8's s/pdif out to my soundcard.
I have a laptop with a Creative Audigy 2 ZS Notebook. I've been recording with a basic 1/4" to 3.5mm converter from the GT-8's mono output to the line-in on the audigy. I read on the creative site that the audigy notebook has a "s/pdif interface" so they say. Is that the same port as the line-in on the audigy card? apparently the line-in also functions as an optical in. i've read that people can hook up the optical out on their audigy notebook card to a digital 5.1 speaker system. so does that work the other way around? can i get a digital coaxial out (rca "shaped" plug) to go from the GT-8 to a 3.5mm optical in on the audigy notebook that is all digital?? what would this cable be called? and is this even possible?
sorry everyone, i get confused with all the terminology. any help would be appreciated. thanks!
