A problem with an expression pedal

I have this very uncomfortable problem, when playing live:

I use volume pedal quite often to mute the sound (for example places where the guitar doesn't play anything). But sometimes (quite often actually) when I push down the pedal instead of muting the volume, it switches on the "pedal wah effect". With the same patch. Sometimes mutes the volume, sometimes switches on the wah.

What could be the problem?

You must have the Wah assigned to the Expression Switch which engages when the toe of the Expression Pedal is pressed down hard. This function automatically disengages the volume pedal so that you are free to use the pedal for Wah, without the volume changing.

Don't confuse the Exp Sw for the Exp Pedal. They are two totally different controls. If you would like to stop this happening, press the Pedal Assign button and then the right parameter button until you come to the Exp Sw assign screen. Just press the Pedal Assign button to turn this function off.
